  • Facebook Launches 'Notify' App for iOS to Let You Stay Notified About Important Things

Facebook has launched a new application in the iOS App Store on Wednesday dubbed 'Notify,' which allows you to be notified of important events going on in the world.

You might be thinking Facebook launching an application to notify you of things means that you'll only get Facebook-oriented notifications, but actually, Notify is an application that lets you choose what you want to be notified about, whether that's weather information, sports information, movie information, or something else of interest to you.

You can configure right from the application what kinds of notifications interest you, and when you do, you'll start getting relevant notifications right away. The application then lets you read into, or even share, the notifications you receive.

Everyone has different interests, so Notify makes it easy to create a personalized mix of notifications about the latest games scores, new movie trailers, breaking news, local food and weather, cultural trends, and more. Just select the types of notifications you’re into and you’ll start getting updates from sources you know right on your lock screen.

    - Select “stations” you’re interested in to get updates on those topics.
    - Get station suggestions for notifications based on your Facebook profile.
    - Swipe or tap through any notification to read the full article, load the site, or watch the video.
    - Share favorite notifications with friends via text, email, Facebook or other social networks.
    - Swipe to add a notification to your Saved list if you want to remember it for later.
    - Stay up to date with a feed of all the notifications you've received in the last 24 hours.
    - Easily discover and add new “stations” anytime.
Notify is a free download from the App Store at this link, so it may be worth taking a look at.

lol, Facebook should get one thing right before they start trying to create a new wheel.

Videos in Facebook play reliably like maybe 2/3rds of the time. And with a update coming "every 2 weeks" like they like to brag about. He's constantly going from fixed to non-fixed.

Let's not net started about their Messaging App.
