  • Apple Watch Launches in India Through Apple Official Retail Stores

The Apple Watch is now available for purchase in India just a month after Apple’s newest flagship device, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, became available in the country. There are currently no Apple Retail Stores in India, so all Apple devices re being sold through Apple official retail channels. Those interested in the smartwatch will be able to purchase one from official retail channels starting at Rs 30,900 (approx. $470 USD).

Apple’s 38mm and 42mm models are available in India and all options including the Rose Gold, Silver Anodized Aluminum, Gold, Space Gray, Space Black and Silver stainless steel, and 18-carat Yellow Gold and Rose Gold are all available as well. According to the Times of India, the stainless steel Apple Watch models start at Rs 48,900 ($743 USD) for the 38mm and Rs 52,900 ($804 USD) for the 42mm.

If you want to purchase the smartwatch with the Classic Buckle, you will have to pay Rs 60,900 ($925 USD) for it and Rs 95,900 ($1,458 USD) for the Link Bracelet model. The 18-Carat Rose Gold 38mm model with a white Sport Band is Rs 8.2 lakh, meanwhile pricing for the 42mm gold edition ranges anywhere from Rs 9.9 lakh to Rs 14.2 lakh.

India is definitely a growing region for Apple and it was noted recently that they is the next country Apple wants to target. We would say that the first thing India needs is a physical Apple Store because up until now, there are none so far. But it was noted that if Apple wants to expand out to India, they will have to figure out a new strategy as they are very different than the Chinese market.
