  • Canalys: 7 Million Apple Watches Shipped So Far

For the last two quarterly earnings reports, Apple has been eerily quiet on matters relating to Apple Watch.

In fact, the burning question among analysts and industry watchers remains unanswered. Just how many Apple Watch units have shipped so far? Although the number is anything but official, the researchers at Canalys have one for us to consider.

According to the firm's latest estimate, Apple has shopped nearly 7 million Apple Watch units over the last two quarters.

"Apple continues to dominate the smart watch market, holding onto its sizable lead through the second quarter of Apple Watch shipments," the company's report reads. If accurate, that 7 million number is a figure "in excess of all other vendors’ combined shipments over the previous five quarters."

Despite ever-increasing competition in the wearables space, Apple is projected to remain king of the smartwatch business throughout the holiday shopping season and well into the foreseeable future.

Shipped does not necessarily equal sold.

Funny how Apple hides sales of certain devices.
