  • Apple Pay Adds Support for More Than 50 New Banks and Card Issuers

On Tuesday, Apple has added more support to its NFC-enabled payment service Apple Pay, which is available on the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and Apple Watch. With it, users can make payments at supported merchants with NFC-enabled payment terminals without the need to carry their physics credit cards.

Among the new banks and card issuers that have been added on Tuesday are the following:

Although more banks and card issuers are supported as of Tuesday, it's worth nothing that in order to use Apple Pay, your merchant must have an NFC-enabled payment terminal capable of accepting Apple Pay. So even if your card is supported, if your favorite merchants don't support Apple Pay, you still will need to carry your physical card on you. Fortunately, more and more merchants are signing up for it.
