  • Anandtech Gives New iPhones 'Editors Choice Gold'

Add another recognition and award to the column of accolades earned by Apple's new iPhone this year.

This time around, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been crowned by Anandtech with "Editor's Choice Gold."

Exploring every technical facet possible with regard to the flagship Apple smartphones, Joshua Ho and Ryan Smith explain that Apple's current offering is largely leagues ahead of the competition. And they would likely still be saying the same even if Apple hadn't refreshed its smartphone lineup in September.

"In light of this lack of competition in the market, it's arguable that Apple is facing less competition than before," the report reads. "The iPhone 6s would continue to sell quite strongly even if this year's refresh was relatively minor as they would still end up quite strong competitively as they would be able to capitalize on momentum from previous years."

This is the guy that we can trust for unbiased Apple-related review journalism? The same Anand Shimpi that was recently hired by Apple? [emoji6]

In other news, there's a new jailbreak out for iOS 9.1. But you can't have it unless you have more money than the NSA:

FYI, Anand sold the site and did not perform the review. Apple hired him specifically because he had such a good grasp on the underlying technologies of SoCs and the like, but the site has almost always had dedicated review staff since it left Geocities, most of whom who remain there today.
