  • ProTube App Gets iOS 9 Support, Picture-in-Picture, Side-by-Side Multitasking, Support for 3D Touch

This week, Jonas Gessner's popular ProTube application in the iOS App Store has received a large update for iOS 9 in version 2.4 that includes most of the highest-demanded features.

Among those, ProTube has adopted 3D Touch support for those sporting an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus. These devices will now see the following shortcut menu when pressing down on the ProTube application on the Home Screen with a little bit of firm force:

The 3D Touch shortcut gives you quick access to searching YouTube, getting to your Home tab, viewing your subscriptions on YouTube, and going to your channel on YouTube.

Moreover, ProTube gets a little love for the iPad, adding support for side-by-side multitasking and picture-in-picture video:

ProTube also adopts other new features in version 2.4, including improvements to the YouTube comments section, allowing users to write out a comment in rich text format, the ability to filter comments by relevance or date, and the ability to see the number of likes a comment has. Other improvements include bug fixes, performance improvements, and the ability to disable the video played history.

ProTube still has all of its amazing features for YouTube that the stock YouTube application just won't give you, including ad-blocking, removing age and location restrictions, and the ability to choose the streaming quality on your cellular network among others.

Existing users of ProTube can download this update free of charge from the App Store's Updates tab, but those who don't own ProTube yet can download the latest version of the application for $2.99 from this App Store link.

I have the ProTube version from before it was pulled from the App store, is it worth the upgrade?
Still on iOS 8 with my JB.

have been using it since 2.1 (i think) and I don't have any issues with it. I was on a 6 Plus and now I am on the 6s Plus. Not sure what device you are on but I don't foresee you having issues.

Same here but my problem is that it won't let me play all the movies and shows I bought on you tube. I have no idea why?
