  • Fantastical 2 for iOS Gets Support for 3D Touch, Apple Watch Complications, & More

On Wednesday, the popular Fantastical 2 iOS calendar application alternative received a big update up to version 2.5 with improvements and new features for iOS 9 users.

Among some of the biggest changes are support for 3D Touch gestures from the Home Screen, which allows you to quickly create an event, view your reminders, search the application, or see your next upcoming event, as well as support for Apple Watch third-party complications, which now lets you see more from your Apple Watch's time face. In addition to that, Apple Watch users will see increased speed because the application is now fully native on the Apple Watch thanks to watchOS 2.

Other new improvements in the application include an improved design for week view, the ability to tap and hold on URLs or locations to open them in other applications, individualized invitation notifications, improvements to weekend highlights, and various bug fixes, including hangs when adding events with VoiceOver, location and phone detectors not appearing, and performance enhancements.

Existing users of Fantastical 2 can download the updated 2.5 application free of cost from the Updates tab in the App Store application. Alternatively, you can also head over to this App Store link to download Fantastical 2.5 from the App Store for $4.99.

I've used most of the calendaring apps out there and Fantastical 2 is my favorite. I noticed it started crashing today... So glad to see there's an update!
