  • Microsoft Says it's Working With Apple to Fix Bugs With Office 2016 on OS X 10.11


    Microsoft launched Office 2016 for Mac OS X late last month, giving Mac users an updated office suite platform to buy at a one-time price without the need to subscribe to the Office 365 monthly subscription. But one thing that was problematic with the software is that it reportedly didn't work nicely with Apple's new OS X 10.11 El Capitan operating system.

    Plagued with crashing and intermittent instability, Office 2016 users that upgraded to OS X 10.11 El Capitan have been blowing up Apple and Microsoft support communities since the launch. Notably, Microsoft is aware of the issue and is actively working with Apple to solve the problem, as Microsoft said in a public statement to Computerworld on Monday:

    Microsoft also said something similar to MacRumors on Monday:

    We've been unable to reproduce these problems on our own machines, but it's worth noting that everyone uses their software differently. What's important is that Microsoft appears to be aware of the problem and will soon have a fix that will make everybody happy.

      My wife has had a pretty hard time with the constant crashing when she opens a word document from outlook, 2016 and 10.11. The solution has been to first save the file and then open it from the hard drive.

      This issue happens to me daily, i open outlook start checking email it crashes so i force quit then try to reopen outlook and it hangs. Force quit, then reboot and it works for a few hours. Same with all of the other 2016 office apps, I have an office 365 account and am running 10.11. It's pretty frustrating luckily i have VM fusion with win10 installed so i can still use that for email.

      Thankfully no issues here.
