  • Apple Releases Safari 9 for OS X Yosemite Users

Alongside the iOS 9.0.2 release, and the upcoming OS X 10.11 El Capitan release on Wednesday, Apple has released Safari 9.0 for OS X Yosemite users by way of the Mac App Store, which is recommended for all users.

Safari 9.0, as noted by the Mac App Store's change log, adds new features to the Web browser and improves the AutoFill compatibility with certain Web sites. Apple says that the new features gained include the ability to mute audio in Safari tabs, as well as more viewing options for Safari Reader.

Notably, Safari in the upcoming OS X El Capitan operating system release, which Apple promised would be released today, will also include these features and is expected to drop any time this afternoon.

To update, you can head over to the Mac App Store's Updates tab and click on the Update button. The software will be downloaded and installed, and no restart will be required.
