  • Apple E-mail Warns Users That Apple Music Trial Will Soon Expire

Apple began e-mailing Apple Music users this week warning them that their Apple Music free trials were set to expire and that they'd need to renew their subscriptions to continue using the service on their devices.

Since the feature launched with iOS 8.4 on July 30th, this means that tomorrow, September 30th, is the last and final day to enjoy the free trial of Apple Music before users will have to pay a monthly fee of $9.99 for a single user subscription, or $14.99 for a family subscription.

The e-mail Apple is sending reminds users that they should turn on automatic renewal to continue listening, which will charge the user's credit card automatically.

Changing your automatic renewal settings is very easy to do, and can be done from your iOS device itself. To do so, open the Music application on your device and tap on the icon with the head icon on it in the top left corner of the application, and then tap on View Apple ID > Manage (Subscriptions) > Your Membership. Here, you'll see a switch labeled "Automatic Renewal," which you can toggle on or off on demand.

Many people like the idea of music streaming integrated into Apple's Music application, and so a lot of people will be here to stay, but others will continue to use Spotify for the higher quality music streaming, or the lower-cost monthly payment if taking advantage of the student discount ($4.99).

So weird....when I signed up for apple music it appeared I was automatically enrolled in auto renew. I had to manually go in there and toggle off the automatic renewal....

That's what it does for every subscription. You always have to turn it off

But does the subscription begin the day I sign up for Apple Music or did it automatically begin on 30th July, the day iOS 8.4 was launched? Many of us haven't even upgraded to iOS 8.4 and are waiting for an iOS 9.1 jailbreak.

It begins when you sign up. I signed up today and mine expires Jan 2nd. I'm also on iOS 8.4 jailbroken.
