  • Image Quality of Photographs Taken With Newest iPhone Wow in Comparison to Older Models

Apple is not playing games with the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus 12-megapixel camera. It's the first major upgrade in the iPhone's camera system since the iPhone 4s, and it's definitely an amazing one. The upgraded camera includes a much more powerful sensor that takes full advantage of the A9 system on a chip to deliver crisp, clear photographs with incredible detail and color accuracy.

To show off the capabilities of the camera in the new handsets, the developers behind the highly popular Camera+ application in the App Store have posted their photograph comparison of every iPhone launched (excluding the iPhone 5c), to show how the camera quality has improved in detail and color accuracy over the years.

The new camera wows in close-up macro capabilities, low-light capabilities, and in HDR detail capture. The Camera+ team is also impressed with the new iPhone's auto-focus speed and detail:

The improved sensor, software updates and new A9 processor on the iPhone 6s has made this camera the best yet. There is an apparent increase in the speed of auto focus and improvements to colour accuracy, details and sharpness, especially in low light.

PS Iím still waiting for an adjustable aperture

I thought the same, but once I zoomed in, I could tell that there was a difference between the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6s.

I can tell a distinct difference in quality between the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s camera, especially in the quality of the grains of wood in the colored pencil in macro mode.

In some cases, the human eye can only see so well, and a better quality photograph is harder to discern.

I concur on the wood grain. Especially if you zoom in a little, you can really see a lot better quality of the pencils. The other photos are a little harder to decipher which is better, but the 6s series is a little sharper.
