  • Apple Releases Redesigned iTunes Connect and Updated Apple Store iOS App

Apple recently pushed out a redesigned iTunes Connect content management Web tool for developers alongside an updated Apple Store app with support for iOS 9 and iPhone 6s features such as 3D Touch. Compared to previous iTunes Connect designs, the recently debuted version sports a revamped user interface that appears to be more in line with Apples consumer-facing Web assets as seen in an overview posted to the companyís developer website.

One of the largest feature additions is an automatic release feature that lets developers specify a date and time they want their app to be published to the app store after it passes review. The pricing and availability options are also enhanced with easier control over promotional price and regional rollout settings. The TestFlight management window also received a makeover with a cleaner layout, one that enables quick access to multi-platform testing, build history and version control. Additional small user interface improvements and feature additions were detailed directly within the new iTunes Connect.

As mentioned before, Apple also updated the Apple Store iOS app with iOS 9 compatibility improvements and support for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus hardware. Although it isnít a major upgrade for current iPhone owners, those who are getting their hands on an iPhone 6s or 6s Plus will be able to access several device-specific features such as 3D Touch. In its current iteration, the Apple Store app only takes advantage of Home Screen Quick Actions, which lets users navigate to orders, the store location and main shop panes.

Those of you interested in downloading the Apple Store app for iOS can do so for free from the App Store.
