  • Notices Get Sent Out By Apple About Possible iPhone 6s Delivery Delays

On Monday we reported that consumers living in Philadelphia and New York may be hit with iPhone 6s shipment delays due to Pope Francis’ visit to the two cities this week. It was rumored that affected consumers would be then receiving their shiny new devices the following Monday. However, Apple started sending out official notices recently informing consumers about receiving their new devices later than when it was scheduled for.

According to Sam Biddle's Twitter message, due to ‘traffic restrictions’ expected for Friday in NYC, deliveries may not make the Friday cut. And if it doesn’t, Apple will be delivering most products on Saturday to make up for it. This means that anyone affected by this delay, should be receiving an official notice from Apple sometime soon. We provided affected zip codes in our previous post, but we will list it again below.

It was also already noted that package pick-ups won’t be available either on that day. Many were questioning whether they could change their delivery option to a carrier in store pick-up instead (meaning at UPS or Fedex), but that is not an available option. The affected zip codes are:

    New York City [Thursday and Friday]: 10001, 10007, 10017, 10021, 10022, 10023, 10029
    Philadelphia [Friday and Saturday]: 19102, 19103, 19104, 19106, 19107, 19109, 19123, 19130, 19146, 19147
