  • Apple Relaunches its Store at the Company's Headquarters

    Apple recently gave employees a first look at its new campus store this past Friday, revealing an interior layout and product offering that is more in line with that of current Apple Stores. This includes the dashes of upcoming changes that are being envisioned by the retail chief, Angela Ahrendts and chief design officer, Jony Ive, spread throughout. Unlike the old campus store that previously opened its doors roughly 20 years ago. Apple’s newly renovated retail outlet at its Cupertino, California headquarters that are more like a “normal” Apple Store.

    Although stocked items now include the iPhone and the Apple Watch, senior marketing director, Enrique Atienza mentioned that the campus outlet isn’t necessarily a blueprint for future Apple Stores. That being said, a few flourishes are being borrowed from Apple’s redesigned retail look, all of which includes crafted wood product shelves, backlist accessory nooks and overhead lighting.

    Based on recent snapshots from CNET of the recent grand reopening preview, the campus store shares several similarities to Apple’s new location in Brussels, Belgium. The store is set to open on Saturday with the only exception being that the Brussels location didn’t have oversized wall hangings advertising the latest Apple gear and campus-exclusive merchandize such as mugs, t-shirts and accessories.

    For those of you who didn’t know, along with the original campus retail outlet, Apple has plans to open a consumer-oriented visitor center at its Campus 2 location when construction completes next year. Planning documents are describing a two-story structure that has retail floor space, a café and an observation deck with views of the adjacent “spaceship” main building.

    The Apple Campus store is open between Monday and Friday from 10:00am to 6:00pm Pacific and opened for the first time this past Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
