  • Dropbox iOS App Updated With iOS 9 Support, Search From Spotlight, Other Improvements

Dropbox has launched an update for its popular iOS application on Wednesday alongside the public launch of iOS 9. The new Dropbox application brings the application up to version 4.0 in the iOS App Store.

Dropbox 4.0 adds support for iOS 9, but it also brings a good handful of new features to the table. Among those, users can now use iOS 9's SpotLight search to find files in their Dropbox account, which will help users access files from a more convenient location in iOS. Moreover, any Dropbox links that you receive from other people will now automatically open the Dropbox application, rather that Mobile Safari.

Other improvements in today's update include having photos and videos that you upload to the Dropbox application grouped under the "Recents" tab, a redesigned action menu that makes it easier to access file and folder actions, and a change that makes "favorite" files known as "offline" files instead.

Existing users of Dropbox for iOS will find this update waiting for them under the Updates tab in the App Store application. Alternatively, you can download the latest version of Dropbox for free from this App Store link.
