  • Apple Says it's "On Pace" to Top Last Year's Opening Weekend Sales of New iPhone

Every year, Apple announces a new iPhone; then it goes on pre-order. With the iPhone as popular as it is, it doesn't take long for the Apple crowd to gobble it all up as soon as the device is available. This past weekend, Apple launched the pre-order for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, letting people pre-order their new A9-powered smartphone with 3D Touch, haptic feedback, Spec bumps, harder 7000 series aluminum enclosure, and other improvements.

Apple has reportedly said to CNBC Monday morning that the company is "on pace" to topping last year's sales on the opening pre-order weekend. The company reports that they've had a huge demand for the iPhone 6s & 6s Plus:

    Quote Originally Posted by Apple

As many customers noticed, the online demand for iPhone 6S Plus has been exceptionally strong and exceeded our own forecasts for the preorder period. We are working to catch up as quickly as we can, and we will have iPhone 6S Plus as well as iPhone 6S units available at Apple retail stores when they open next Friday.
Apple also notes that the demand for the iPhone 6s Plus has been stronger than that of the iPhone 6s, leading to supply constraints. Although nonetheless, Apple says they'll have units of both iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus available in retail stores starting next Friday. As a result of the high demand, the iPhone 6s Plus was the first to sell out on pre-order weekend. It's obvious people love the bigger display.

Apple should be proud of their numbers the company continuously tops their numbers with each consecutive iPhone release. Apple demonstrates each year that they have what it takes to make the iPhone just better enough that most people who enjoy the brand just have to have it.

Enough with the "we've sold out" crap, no one really cares that you've topped last years sell's...we just want the bloody Phone! We all know that you only make a certain amount of units at the beginning so that you can say you sold out when their gone. Just make a shiz load of them then triple that amount and we won't have this dumb problem. By now you should know what to expect each year.

Yeah. It's frustrating they keep not making enough of the large one.
