  • 21.5-Inch iMac With 4k Retina Display Rumored to Launch in October

A new report from 9to5Mac states that Apple will be introducing a 21.5-inch iMac with 4k display next month, at the end of October. It will apparently be released simultaneously with OS X El Capitan. Although the announcement was said to be made next month, consumers shouldn’t expect any shipments until sometime early November.

There have been rumors for months now that Apple would be introducing an updated Retina iMac when a code was discovered in OS X El Capitan with a higher resolution iMac of 4096 x 2304. The code also had Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200, Broadwell chips, and AMD Radeon M380-M395X graphics. We’re not sure if this means the updated iMac will sport these upgrades.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities reported that a refreshed iMac line would be introduced sometime this quarter, but he never gave an exact time frame or date. This new report would be in-line with Kuo’s released information. Let’s see what Apple announces next week first on September 9th and then we can sort of guess the rest and confirm when more news is released.

If it's $1.5K, would be a good cost point for me.
