  • comScore: iPhone Gains Ground in U.S Smartphone Market Share

On Thursday, comScore published the latest emerging trends in the U.S. smartphone industry for the month of July 2015. And it was good news for Apple all around.

According to the data in question, Apple clocked in as the top smartphone manufacturer with 44.2 percent OEM market share, while Android led as the top smartphone platform with 51.4 percent platform market share (down -0.8% since the last report).

Facebook also managed to attain worthy placement in the report, too. Facebook ranked as the top individual smartphone app.

As for smartphone growth itself, that number is not to be outdone either. 191.4 million people in the U.S. owned smartphones (77.1 percent mobile market penetration) during the three months ending in July.
