  • Google Launches New Google Street View App for iOS

On Thursday, Google has released another application for the iOS platform to join its many other application offerings in the iOS App Store. Dubbed Google Street View, users can use this application to view places in the popular street view that Google is known for, and can even create their own panoramic images of locations that can be shared with the community.

Google Street View lets you explore places all around the world with a special experience that lets you walk around town without actually leaving your couch. The application includes built-in photo sphere support, letting users snap their own photographs of locations that they can share.

Features in the new application, as noted by the App Store, include the following:

    • Use your phone’s camera (no camera accessories required)
    • Connect to a spherical camera to capture in one tap
    • Share to Google Maps as immersive photo spheres
    • Share privately as flat photos
Google notes that creating 360º photographs can be done with your smartphone or with the use of a special one-shot spherical camera, such as the Ricoh Theta S.

Because that's what application developers are doing nowadays. It makes troubleshooting bugs easier and puts specific focuses on specific applications so individual teams can work on each one. It's faster and more efficient for the companies involved.

From a consumer point of view it’s really annoying. I think at one time I had three or four Apps from Tesco all with overlapping functionality.
They have been forced into it because of Apples policies I guess. With normal software, get a bug in an app, just download and install an older version. But with the crApp Store…….
