  • Apple's Music Director Unexpectedly Bolts the Company

On Friday, news broke that Apple is losing a surprising member of its team.

The company's director for Apple Music, Ian Rogers, has departed from the Cupertino, California-based tech giant. Rogers, according to the Financial Times, was on the executive team that came to Apple when the acquisition of Beats took place.

"News of his departure caught colleagues off guard," the FT reports. "He is leaving the west coast to work for a Europe-based company in an unrelated industry, people familiar with the situation said."

Apple hasn't offered a formal comment on the departure or confirmed a replacement, but the iDevice maker has indeed conceded that Rogers is out at Apple.
