  • iPhone 6s Will Reportedly Feature Apple Watch-Like Motion Wallpapers on the Lock Screen

In iOS 7, Apple started introducing the idea of 'dynamic' wallpapers, which can animate and shift based on the movement of the device, but new rumors suggest that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus may further improve on this feature with Apple Watch-Like motion wallpapers of vivid detail.

It could be one of the features that sets the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus apart from the previous generation devices, but as Apple is well-known for, it will be a simple software limitation that could probably run just fine on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, but Apple will lock it down to the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to perpetuate sales of the newer handset.

9to5Mac, which was the first to report such information Thursday morning, notes that the wallpapers might include an animated fish or animated plumes of smoke. The source also notes that the feature, which was originally thought to be pushed off until a future release, may actually be ready in time for this release after all.

The Apple Watch offers animated wallpapers that can provide a background to the watch face, which is something similar to what Apple could be planning for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

Apple is planning their special event for September 9th, so we'll know for sure what Apple has in mind on that date!

Battery life...for once Apple, focus on battery life. That's what would set you a part, not gimmicks!

They've actually already announced that iOS 9 will focus on improving battery life by an average of an extra hour for all devices, just by updating to it. Also included a Power Reserve mode to squeak out a few extra hours as well. They have actually addressed at least some improvements for battery life.

I equate that to the Russian style of negotiating. Say no to everything so that when you do give something, no matter how small and insignificant, it seems like a big deal. It's crap. Make the phone 2 mm thicker and triple the battery size. They're so obsessed with size / weight. Just saying.

But hey, at least it's something.

Imagine.... battery life for 2 days with heavy use, water proofing it and having sapphire glass so you wouldn't have to worry about a case. AAAAHHHH...one can dream.

So, you're the kind of person who constantly laments battery life, and when there is an improvement, you bemoan that the improvement wasn't to your specifications? Guess some people can't be pleased.

Yeah..that's it. I'm not jumping for joy over a 1 hour improvement and/or shutting off my services as a lame attempt to stretch it out. That's me!

A whole hour more...holy cow, what was I thinking not being ecstatic over that. I'm such a pathetic person. How will I live with myself.

Come on man, you know that's crap.

Like I said, you gripe about battery life, and when it gets extended some, you gripe more. Plus, the power reserve mode isn't "shutting off" services. It kills some animations, disables a few non-relevant features, and stops checking your email for you every 5 seconds. Nowhere near what Samsung did with their power reserve mode of going completely monochromatic, and drastically killing features to save battery.
