  • Fifth OS X 10.11 El Capitan Beta Seeded to Public Beta Participants

On Tuesday, Apple has seeded a fifth public beta of OS X 10.11 El Capitan to public beta participants for testing as we continue to inch closer and closer to the Fall public release. The new release comes with the build number 15A262c.

The update offers bug fixes, performance improvements, and small updated UI tidbits, such as a new About This Mac screen and a new Welcome to Safari screen, as pointed out first by MacRumors.

OS X 10.11 El Capitan is Apple's next major operating system release that Apple says will drastically improve performance and battery life on many older Macs. We have compiled a list of the major new features in OS X 10.11 El Capitan at this link that you're free to read and learn more about.

Currently, OS X 10.11 El Capitan appears to be in the middle of a release hiccup, as Apple seems to have pulled the update, but it should be back shortly. Those testing the public betas can update from the Updates tab in the Mac App Store application on their registered Mac.
