  • Leading Apple Supplier Spending Billions on Screen Technology

    One of Apple's leading suppliers is gearing up for major expenditures likely as a direct result of anticipated demands from the Cupertino, California-based tech behemoth.

    With a season of product refreshes fast approaching, here's what we can tell you.

    According to information gleaned by the folks at Bloomberg, LG Display Co. is committed to investing about 10 trillion won ($8.5 billion) over the next three years "to develop next-generation screens to reverse slowing growth and gain an edge over competitors."

    Specifically, LG Display is going to direct the focus of its investment to OLEDs.

    The world’s largest maker of liquid crystal displays is betting on growth in demand for advanced displays, including foldable screens, for wearable devices, cars and televisions.
    “The investment aims to make LG Display grow as a sustainable company,” CEO Han Sang Beom is quoted by Bloomberg.
