  • Apple Live TV Service Now Pushed Back to 2016

We reported earlier that the refreshed Apple TV would be unveiled by the Cupertino-based company next month during the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus event. The over-the-top streaming TV service however, has been reported to launch sometime in 2016. Apple’s original plan was to deliver their live TV-over-internet streaming service for the Apple TV this year and prepare to show it with the upcoming new Apple TV in September. But according to Bloomberg, Apple’s deals with networks like NBC, CBS, and Fox have not even been confirmed yet, which is causing the delay in launch.

Bloomberg’s report also noted that the other major problem causing the delay was pricing of the new TV service. The publication stated that Apple was looking to charge customers $40/month for “a package of popular channels,” which is higher than the original estimated prices. Either way, it is expected for Apple to announce a refreshed Apple TV on September 9th, which is still unofficial as of right now. We will keep everyone updated when more official information gets released.
