  • Apple Updates Apple Store App for iOS With Support for Gift Cards

On Tuesday, Apple released an update for its Apple Store application in the iOS App Store, bringing the application up to version 3.4.

Apple is improving the mobile shopping experience in this update by allowing Apple Store customers to use their Apple Store gift cards from the mobile application. To use one, the user just needs to open the application, proceed through to the checkout of an item, and when prompted to put in a gift card, scan it with the rear-facing camera the application takes care of all the rest.

This is a feature that has been long requested by users, as gift cards are a common form of buying goods from the Apple Store, especially when Apple offers them with various educational discounts or when people receive them for the holidays.

If you're currently an Apple Store application user, then the update will be waiting for you under the Updates tab in the App Store application. Alternatively, you can visit this App Store link to download the latest version of the App Store application for free.
