  • New KGI Report Predicts Zero to Negative Growth for Apple's Upcoming iPhone

Sales for Apple’s iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have been very good since it was first released back in September of last year. Now rumors have been circulating the web claiming the Cupertino-based company will be announcing their new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus devices next month. However, an analyst from KGI has predicted that there will be close to no growth or even negative growth in Q4 of this year for the new smartphones. The KGI Securities analyst was unnamed, but it is possible that it was Ming Chi Kuo.

It was noted that one of the reasons behind this prediction is due to the upcoming devices having very little to minimal upgrades from the current iPhone 6/6 Plus. According to rumors, the biggest upgrade for the new device is Force Touch, which many are disappointed about. The report from KGI also predicted that Apple would be selling approximately 65-75 million iPhone 6s/6s Plus devices in Q4 of 2015. Another big reason behind the zero or negative growth is apparently due to smartphone sales slowing down in China.

Another piece of big information from the report notes that the Cupertino-based company already told manufacturers to reduce production of the iPhone 6s by 1%. We’re not sure how accurate this is, but again, we would take all of this information with a grain of salt until Apple officially announces the device next month.

I disagree, with nothing to base that on other than the previous 8 years. Big hardware upgrade or not, they sell like crazy.

I think it's pretty even. I tend to skip the S models due to lack of sufficient updates, but I've seen many other posters here say they only get the S models every other year because it's the "better version" of the same sh*t the launched the year before.

If that's the case, then why do they keep setting records every year? No matter if it's the (S) Model or not! The past speaks for itself.

The fan base is too large for it to fail. Would have to be a horrible offering to fail..when has that happened.

I highly doubt that apple would have 0-little growth. They have always had a momentum based strategy that waits for nobody.
