  • Apple Seeds iOS 9 Beta 5 and WatchOS 2 Beta 5 to Developers for Testing

Apple has seeded a fifth beta of iOS 9 and watchOS 2 to developers Thursday afternoon, following Monday's sixth developer beta of OS X 10.11 El Capitan. The new betas includes stability improvements and performance enhancements to make the developer channel more reliable for developers to test the applications on.

WatchOS 2 will be the first major upgrade to the Apple Watch since its release earlier this year, and will allow native applications on the Apple Watch for the first time, no longer requiring the application to piggyback off of the processing power of the iPhone.

iOS 9 will bring iOS users a variety of new features, as well as improvements to battery life, performance, security, and stability. For a list of the biggest new changes in iOS 9, you can head over to this link to read more about the upgrade, which will be coming to the public this Fall alongside watchOS 2. You can also read about what's new in watchOS 2 here.

Both updates are available to developers on the developer beta channel OTA (over the air). iOS 9 beta 5 can be installed from the Settings application under the General > Software Update section, while watchOS 2 can be installed from the Apple Watch application under the General > Software Update section.

Update: Apple has also released a third public beta of iOS 9 on Thursday to public beta participants.

Anyone using watchOS 2? I've been tempted but don't want it to be super buggy
