  • Apple Updates TestFlight Application With Support for Testing On iOS 9 and WatchOS 2

On Wednesday, Apple released an update for its acquired TestFlight application, which is an application that developers can use to host public betas of applications for the iOS platform before they're available to the public on the iOS App Store. Wednesday's update brings the TestFlight application up to version 1.2.0 in the iOS App Store.

The update adds preliminary support for testing new features inside of iOS 9 and watchOS 2, which essentially gives developers the ability to begin hosting public beta trials for their applications for anyone running an iOS 9 beta. This will help developers to continue stabilizing their applications for iOS 9 and watchOS 2 before their public releases this Fall.

This update adds support for testing upcoming iOS 9 features including watchOS 2 apps and App Thinning.

Testers can now choose how to receive update notifications for each app they are testing. Also, watchOS 2 beta apps will install automatically when the "Automatic Downloads" setting is turned on in the Apple Watch app.

    Minor stability and performance improvements.
Those with TestFlight already installed on their devices will find this update waiting for them under the Updates tab in the App Store application on their iOS devices. Alternatively, you can also head over to this App Store link to download TestFlight for free.
