  • Apple Seeds OS X 10.10.5 Beta 3 to Developers for Testing

On Wednesday, Apple has seeded a third beta of OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite to developers for testing. This beta, given the build number of 14F25a, comes about a week after the developer seed of the previous OS X 10.10.5 beta.

OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite is said to include security and stability improvements for the operating system, making it more dependable and secure. OS X 10.10.5, being just a X.X.1 release, likely won't have anything big contained within when it comes out to the public.

Developers running the beta 2 of OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite can open the Mac App Store and check the Updates tab to find this updated seed waiting to be installed. Installation will require a restart of the machine, so it's a good idea to save work before proceeding to prevent data loss.

OS X 10.11 El Capitan is also in beta as of this point in time and will be released to the public this Fall. Developers can prepare their applications for El Capitan compatibility, or install OS X 10.10.5 to help Apple with reporting bugs.
