  • Apple's Back to School 2015 Promo Offers Free Beats Headphones With New Mac Purchase

Just last week we noted that there were no signs yet of Appleís Back to School promotion this year and then a few days ago we reported that the companyís VP of Retail, Angela Ahrendts, told employees that a similar promotion would be launching soon. It was very strange that Apple hadnít started their Back to School program yet, as they normally launch it by the first week of July. Today, Apple finally launched their 2015 education promotion where every customer who purchases a new eligible Mac will receive a pair of Beats Solo2 On-Ear headphones.

Qualifying Mac models include the MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, and Mac Pro. Refurbished Macs, Mac minis, iPads, and iPhones are all excluded from the deal. When a new eligible Mac is purchased, Apple will apply a credit instantly of $199.95 so that the entire Beats Solo 2 cost is covered. Customers can choose from the 6 colors offered including blue, gray, black, red, pink, and white. If you are interested in the more expensive Beats Solo2 Wireless On-Ear headphones, you can just pay the difference of $100 to get the wireless ones instead. The Solo2 Wireless On-Ear headphones are offered in gold, silver, or space gray.

Apple typically changes their annual offerings for the Back to School Promotion, but still launches it around the same time every year. This year has definitely been the latest itís ever been, but we must say the deal isnít a bad one. The offering will go until September 18, 2015 in retail stores and go from August 6, 2015 to September 18, 2015 on its online store. Currently, the promotion has been announced to only run in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. Will you be participating in this deal and purchasing a new Mac? Share with us in the comments below.

It probably costs Apple less to make these crappy headphones than it does to give away gift cards for the App Store like they did in years past... At this rate, they'll probably be giving away 1GB USB drives in the next couple of years...

Never say No to something Free; even if it's a Pair of $180 headphones. Course I own a Pair of Studio's and I have my iPad Mini...so i think it's a good deal for those who are just getting into the Apple sphere.

Solo 2's are actually worth getting for free. If it were Solo HD's then yea pass on that even for free. At least better than nothing.
