  • Facebook Will Be Bringing Huge Improvements to News Feed User Controls Later Today

Facebook has announced some major improvements to its mobile application on Thursday that will be hitting the public later today. The improvements focus mainly on giving users full control over their News Feeds such that the mobile application shows more of what you want to see and less of what you don't want to see.

The new settings will let you choose what to prioritize over other things, so you'll be able to create your own curated News Feed so that the most important things to you show first. These may be friends or pages that you like.

Facebook will also make it easier for you to find more pages that you might like based on the things that you prioritize. The new Discover Pages will suggest pages to you based on the things that you've liked in the past or that you already follow.

Today's update will also make it easier for you to follow and unfollow groups that you've recently liked or unliked so that you can always go back to a page that you unliked earlier on in the game.

Facebook's promo video for the improvements can be watched below:

Facebook notes that all of these changes are coming to the iOS application later today and that they will roll out to Android users in the coming weeks. The preferences can be found in the More tab from your Facebook application when they're available:

It's about time! I hate how the news feed is. I usually only want Most Recent. Their algorithms for "Top Rated" is terrible.
