  • New Webpage Launched by Apple Details How They Test iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch Cases

Just recently, we reported that Apple will be revamping all third-party accessory selections in the retail stores by sometime next week. The company will be decreasing the amount of accessories offered in stores with new accessory packages only co-designed by Apple. Now, the Cupertino-based company has launched a new webpage that goes into detail of what requirements the cases for the devices have to go through before being shelved in retail stores. Different aspects of the cases for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch are included on the new website.

    According to the webpage,

Each case design for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch has to go through a series of tests before it reaches the Apple Store. So you can be sure the case you buy is a perfect match for your iOS device.
The website first goes into the design, then the camera aspect of the case, the acoustics, the sensors, and finally the cellular and wireless portion of the case. For the design, the company ensures that all buttons and ports are still accessible with the case on. It also says that the acoustics are tested so that no audio parts are affected. The company then tests that all sensors are just as sensitive with the case on as it is off. And finally wireless and cellular capabilities are tested.

Apple’s newly launched site goes into great detail so that everyone realizes that all cases sold in stores have gone through rigorous testing before being sold. We must say this is a great marketing tactic for the company because then consumers won’t be able to go back and complain about anything the company has already tested for. However if customers have something to complain about they will always find a way. So at the end of the day, we’re not sure all of this was necessary, what are your thoughts? Are you more relieved knowing the company has done lots of testing for each and every case before selling it? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
