  • Next iPhone 6c May Have Metal Backing Instead of Plastic

As most of you already know, Apple’s low-end smartphone- the iPhone ‘C’ series, has a plethora of colors due to the polycarbonate shell. A new report is circulating the web now claiming that the next iPhone ‘C’ device may be ditching the plastic shell for a metal case similar to the current iPhone 6. The dubbed iPhone 6c will continue to sport a 4-inch display, but upgrade its casing to have a metal one according to Barron’s. Foxconn has already been called out to be the device’s assembler.

Although the device is Apple’s cheapest smartphone, it received very positive results from the public. The device has not been updated since its release other than the fact that the company discontinued both the 16 and 32GB of the 5c and added the 8GB version. Apple is expected to launch and refresh a newer version of this line, possibly in the fall, but the company has yet to make any announcements about it.

Apparently Ming-Chi Kuo believes that Apple won’t be refreshing the ‘C’ series until later down the line in 2016. He believes the iPhone 5s will be replacing the 5c until the iPhone 7 comes out. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think a revamped version will be coming to stores this fall? Share your thoughts with us in the section below.

I actually have never seen a 5c in the wild.... Surely a 5s is better due to the build and features. And it wasn't that much cheaper than a 5s.... I'll stick to the proper models I think, jumped from 5 to 5s to 6.
