  • Eminem Ready to Make Peace with Apple?

Apple and Eminem haven't had the best of relationships.

Dating back more than a decade, the controversial rapper first quarreled with the Cupertino tech giant over the use of the recording artist's music in an iPod ad.

Further legal skirmishes involving the rights to sell Eminem's music on iTunes, would be resolved the same way -- through settlements out of court. Nonetheless, despite resolutions to former battles, Apple and Eminem haven't had a close relationship throughout the years.

But is the big chill about to thaw? There may be some hope for that reality. At least that's what our friends at AppleInsider propose in a though-provoking piece that follows the news that Eminem is lending his name to an Apple enterprise.

"Eminem's interview with Beats 1 host Zane Lowe may reflect a long-term thawing of the rapper's relationship with Apple, which was once defined by legal battles that would influence how royalties are paid for music downloads," says Roger Fingas of AI.

These days, Apple seems game for playing nice with everyone in the music industry. From backing down to Taylor Swift to welcoming Eminem into Beats territory, it's pretty obvious that keeping enemies won't serve Apple well on the eve of launching its streaming music service.
