  • Apple Updates iTunes U App for iOS With Improvements for Instructors & Students

Apple updated its iTunes U application for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on Thursday with improvements to help both students and instructors. The new update, which has been dubbed version 3.0, is now available in the App Store.

Now, if a student has a question, they can initiate a private one-on-one conversation with the instructor to get their questions answered. Moreover, students can turn in their assignments with multiple attachments using just the iTunes U application, as well as import files from other applications installed on the device.

Instructors are going to love the fact that they can now keep track of students' grades right from the iTunes U built-in grade book. It's also possible to annotate PDF assignments in this version of iTunes U, which gives instructors a way to leave notes on students' assignments, as well as allows students to leave notes on their own assignments.

Existing users of iTunes U will find this update under the Updates tab in the App Store application. Those who want to try it for the first time can head over to this App Store link to download iTunes U for free.
