  • Apple Seeds Second Beta of iOS 9 Beta to Developers for Testing

On Tuesday, Apple has seeded the second beta of iOS 9 to developers for testing. The updated beta comes approximately two weeks after the original seed, which was introduced after WWDC 2015.

Developers will be able to upgrade to the latest beta OTA (over the air) or from the developer section of Apple's Web site. It includes stability and performance improvements, as well as bug fixes over the original beta release.

A new version of Xcode has also been seeded so that developers can develop for the platform ahead of the public release so that their applications are ready this Fall, making for a seamless transition for users.

iOS 9 includes a variety of enhancements, such as speed boosts, battery improvements, a new all-in-one information panel on the Home Screen, side-by-side application multitasking on the iPad, picture-in-picture video multitasking on the iPad, improvements to the content in the Notes application, and many other things that will make users want the update when it comes out this Fall to the public.

Anyone get it installed and notice anything new yet? I plan on trying it with the taig tool later today if it's more stable.

You're likely not to see those gains until the stable public release. Betas typically aren't the best performing software.

Not that I know of. It's made for iOS 8.1.3-8.3.

Sorry. Meant to quote not thank. But as fat as I know, no. But I figure it doesn't hurt to try anyway. It most likely is locked to 8.3 to avoid people jailbreaking anything higher.

Better battery life for sure. There is a passcode bug, no mater what I set the time limit for passcode, it requires it immediately. In the music app, iTunes radio screen is now blank. That's all I've found so far.

Better battery life, no passcode bug here. Although, Yahoo keeps asking for my password and it is already correct. Getting more stable thanks.

These bugs may be hit-or-miss then. I wonder if re-installing the beta would fix some of these issues?

Passcode bug comes and goes. Battery life is the best it's ever been!
