  • Foxconn Ready to Roll Out iPhones in India

Is Foxconn ready to relocate some of the production burden born of its relationship with Apple to elsewhere in Asia?

According to sources close to the powerhouse manufacturer, Taiwan-based Foxconn may soon begin production on iPhones in India as a means to supplement its output amidst increasing production demands called for by Apple.

Foxconn Technology is in talks to manufacture Apple's iPhone in India, government officials said, in a move that could lower prices in the world's No.3 smartphone market where the U.S. firm trails Samsung Electronics and local players.
Why is India so important to Foxxcon? Based on analysis of the situation, India might be what Foxconn needs to stave off the effects of the rapidly ballooning wage inflation happening in China today.

As of this writing, the deal to bring some production to India isn't finalized. But it's certainly being worked on and more details will likely be known soon.

Lol, now the Chinese are outsourcing jobs. Now they'll know how millions of Americans felt when they lost their jobs to a global economy!

Hmm... Wow... Here, child labor and inhumane working conditions can be overlooked by passing just a couple of currency notes under the table as well. Corruption at it's best... Good move Apple! *sigh*
Offering thousands of jobs in India is a good thing for the Indian economy, but exploiting the workforce is on a totally different level here, possibly at par or worse with the Chinese, and working conditions/safety are generally neglected here as well. Don't know how Apple is going to supervise that, but I have a feeling that they do not care. Foxconn hasn't been in the news for good reasons for quite a few years now...

There are stages to the industrial revolution that cannot be skipped. America went through this, just as every country must.
