On Wednesday, Apple confirmed that one of the hottest young bands on the music scene today will help close out this year's WWDC.

"Program yourself to party," Apple told its devs today. "Come watch WALK THE MOON perform Thursday night at the WWDC Bash. The party starts at 6:00 p.m. at Yerba Buena Gardens."

The pop band sensation is this year's WWDC Bash headliner, a role filled in 2014 by Bastille.

We should have known, however, that the band would likely play a role in this week's festivities. After all, during Monday's kick-off, Apple played the band's hit "Shut Up and Dance" during one of the keynote presentations.

We're told that conference attendees are being given a couple of free songs from the band as an introduction to their music before tomorrow's concert.
