  • Cadillac to Integrate CarPlay into Most of Their 2016 Vehicles

Automaker Cadillac has recently announced that it would be having Apple CarPlay support in most of their 2016 vehicles, with the first group rolling out this summer. Not long ago, we noted that a few automakers would be incorporating CarPlay in their vehicles, but no mention of when exactly was ever announced. Those looking to purchase a Cadillac in the near future will be able to add CarPlay on all models except the SRX Crossover. The company noted that they will also be adding Android Auto support sometime in late 2016 production of vehicles.

At Apple’s WWDC 2015 keynote that took place just recently, the company noted many upgrades to CarPlay including new screen size support, wireless connections, and apps that will be able to control in-car functions. However, Cadillac did not clarify whether or not their vehicles will have all these improvements.

Those who will have CarPlay and Android Auto support will need to tap on a ‘projection’ icon on the screen first and then touch a button on the steering wheel to trigger Siri or Android voice in order to access the function. We wonder how many other companies are going to follow suit on officially adding CarPlay support.
