  • New Report Suggests Apple Won't Be Introducing Revamped Apple TV at WWDC 2015

Rumors had circulated the web claiming that Apple would be unveiling a revamped Apple TV at this year’s WWDC, which is now just a few weeks away. However, a new report is saying that Apple would be postponing their plans on unveiling it because it’s not ‘ready for prime time.’ The New York Times’ Brian X. Chen noted the following:

Yet one much ballyhooed device will be absent from the conference: a new Apple TV, Apple's set-top box for televisions. The company planned as recently as mid-May to use the event to spotlight new Apple TV hardware, along with an improved remote control and a tool kit for developers to make apps for the entertainment device. But those plans were postponed partly because the product was not ready for prime time, according to two people briefed on the product.
The last time the Apple TV was revamped was 3 years ago back in 2012 . A few weeks back, Apple had also dropped the price of the current Apple TV, which was another reason as to why people were speculating that the Cupertino-based company would be releasing a new set-top box. Despite all these rumors, Apple never made an announcement in regards to this idea.

Previous rumors said that the new version would feature Siri support, an A8 chip, a full App Store, a touch-based remote, and internal storage. No word has gotten out on when the company plans on introducing a new Apple TV. We will keep you guys posted, so be sure to check back.
