  • Apple Pay Adds Another 12 Banks to its Official List of Issuers

The Cupertino California company recently added another 12 US banks to its official list of issuers with cards supporting Apple Pay. This puts the total over 300 for the first time the majority of the new supporting partners are regional ones with the full list consisting of the following:

    • Banner Bank
    • BayPort Credit Union
    • California Coast Credit Union
    • Centier Bank
    • Community First Credit Union
    • Glenview State Bank
    • HAPO Community Credit Union
    • Prestige Community Credit Union
    • Provident Credit Union
    • Staley Credit Union
    • Synovus Bank
    • Wood & Huston Bank

For those of you who didn’t know, Apple Pay is still only functional in the US although the Cupertino California company is reportedly working on expanding into the UK, Canada and China. It is being speculated that everyone will hear more news regarding the platform during next week’s Worldwide Developers Conference. Rumors are pointing towards the possibility of a rewards program which will give perks to users who use Apple Pay on a regular basis. Ultimately though, we’ll have to wait and see.

I used apple pay all over Western Australia so to say it only works in the U.S. Is incorrect.

Because it would be a PITA now to switch. And they do have lots of convenient ATMs all over the place. I keep hoping competition will make them not suck so much but not yet.
