  • Apple Wants to Sign Drake, Pharrell, and David Guetta as Guest DJs for iTunes Radio

A new report from the New York Post notes that Apple is looking to bring on Pharrell Williams, David Guetta, and Drake as guest DJs for the company’s upcoming revamped iTunes Radio. As rumors have been circulating the web, the Cupertino-based company will be unveiling its new iTunes Radio at WWDC in June. The New York Post report said that Apple and Drake are currently negotiating a $19 million deal where the Canadian rapper may play more of a role than just a guest DJ but this has not been confirmed.

Other artists the company is apparently negotiating with include David Guetta and Pharrell, but it isn’t clear how much the other two artists are being negotiated for. The new revamped music service is supposed to combine Spotify, Pandora, and YouTube features all into one service, which will include videos, music, sharing sections, and artist pages. It was noted that the company wanted to offer lyrics are part of a feature as well, but did not want to pay record labels extra.

Drake and Pharell were spotted as some of the first artists to sport Apple’s recently released Apple Watch. Maybe this was part of the deal when Apple was negotiating, who knows? Will you be signing up for Apple’s revamped music service? Share with us in the comments below.
