  • Best Jailbreak Tweaks of the Week - May 31st Edition

This recap will go over the best jailbreak tweaks that we've shown you this week. It's certainly not all of them, but we think these are some of the most worthy of recognition out of what we have been able to show you this week. These are in no specific order, and they're all compatible with the TaiG version 1.2.0 jailbreak for iOS 8.0-8.1.2 on Windows and the PP jailbreak for iOS 8.0-8.1.2 on Mac OS X.

    1. IneffectivePower FREE

IneffectivePower is a necessary jailbreak tweak that you should really consider installing on your device to protect yourself from a recently-discovered unicode iMessage glitch that could cause repetitive crashing of your Messages application if someone sends you a message containing the malicious characters. This is a problem that Apple says they will address in a future iOS update, but obviously, jailbreakers cannot update without losing their jailbreak. Installing this patch will protect you from the unicode bug and also let you keep your jailbreak. You can read our full post on IneffectivePower at this link.

    2. Recents $1.49 With 3-day FREE Trial

Recents is a really cool mod for Notification Center that gives you a new tab with all of your recent incoming and outgoing phone calls, just as you could expect to see in your Phone application on your iPhone. Since Notification Center is accessible from anywhere, even on the Lock Screen, it makes for very quick access to recent contacts so you can call people back. You can read our full review of Recents at this link.

    3. StopAutoDelete FREE

Another useful text-editing tweak called StopAutoDelete can help make your text-editing experience in iOS less of a hassle. It prevents iOS from switching from deleting letter by letter to deleting word by word when you hold down on the backspace button, and instead, it'll only delete letter by letter no matter how long you hold down on the backspace button. The tweak's overall goal of preventing unwanted mass text deletion is very effective. You can read our full review of StopAutoDelete at this link.

    4. DeLe - $2.99

For when you want to make sure you're not sending the wrong person a message, or you want to quickly take back a message before it sends because of a typo or a change of heart, DeLe could be very useful. It implements a text timer that prevents a message from officially sending until the timer is up. The timer is customizable, and in the amount of time you are waiting for the timer to complete, you could perform more actions, such as immediately sending the message, deleting the message, copying or cutting the message to your clipboard, or immediately hide the keyboard after the message sends to make conversation perusing easier. You can read our full review of DeLe at this link.

    5. CustomNotificationSound FREE

And last, but not least, on our Best Jailbreak Tweaks of the Week content this week is CustomNotificationSound, which gives you the ability to assign custom notification sounds to third-party applications on your iOS devices. Normally, third-party applications do not offer customizable notification sounds, and the user is restricted to the sound the developer implements. That's why no matter what, a Facebook Messenger notification always sounds like a Facebook Messenger notification on everybody's phone. This changes that. Now, you can have a super awesome sound that no one else has for third-party applications. You can read our full review of CustomNotificationSound at this link.
