  • Consumer Reports Gives Props to Apple for Its Computer Technical Support

While Apple is no stranger to scoring positive reviews in response to its market leading mobile and computing products, there's another category in which it is just as important to score rave reviews.

    We're talking about customer service.

Fortunately for Mac owners or prospective buyers, says Consumer Reports in a new report out this week, Apple's computer technical support is outstanding. And its receiving top honors from the venerable publication ahead of the weekend.

"If you want an army of geeks you can count on to tame an unruly computer, you’d better buy a Macintosh: Apple tech support is by far the most effective of any computer brand’s," the report reads. "With most Windows PCs, there’s only a 50-50 chance that a manufacturer’s tech support will do the trick."

This assessment isn't based on what Consumer Reports believes to true. A survey of 3,200 computer owners via the Consumer Reports National Research Center showed that Mac users are very happy with Apple's support services. Impressively, "four out of five said tech support was able to resolve their problem."
