  • Google Launches Google Cardboard Virtual Reality App in the iOS App Store

On Thursday, alongside the launch of Google Photos for iOS amid Google's I/O developer conference, Google has also launched Google Cardboard for the iPhone.

Google Cardboard has been available on the Android platform for a while, and allows the user to experience virtual reality with one of Google's Cardboard viewers. You can purchase one from Google, or you can make your own.

The cardboard viewers are used in conjunction with the Google Cardboard application to simulate a pair of glasses that let you delve into the world of virtual reality. The phone is meant to be placed into the back of the viewer, while two eye holes allow you to peer in at your display on your phone, which uses the rear-facing camera to help create its virtual reality effects:

The application includes four different views, including Urban Hike, Kaleidoscope, Explorer, and Exhibit. You can pick the view you want from the application's settings. iPhone 5 or later running iOS 8.0 or later can enjoy Google Cardboard.

If interested, you can head over to this App Store link to download the application for free.
