  • Next Apple iPhone to Unveil in August?

It seemed like just yesterday everyone was preordering Apple’s flagship iPhone 6/6 Plus devices when it first launched in September of last year. Now new reports are claiming that the company will be announcing their next iPhone in August of this year, which is only 2 or so months away. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo gave a research note recently to clients noting that the announcement will be a month before the launch. Kuo’s estimates are typically pretty close to the actual news and if it isn’t exactly on point, it is usually not too far off.

One issue with Kuo’s report however, is the fact that Apple has never revealed their iPhones in August. The Cupertino-based company released their first iPhones in June at WWDC, the iPhone 4s in October 4 years ago, and then the rest in September. So Kuo’s assumption is questionable and seems a bit off. But who knows, maybe the company will unveil it in August this year. Kuo’s research note claimed that 60%-70% of the new iPhone will be made by Foxconn according to The China Post. The China Post also noted that the 12.9-inch iPad will mainly be manufactured by Foxconn as well.

How true do you think these reports are? Are you excited for the next generation iPhone? Share with us in the comments below.

Speeding up the "expiration date" of the devices is what I'm not too excited about. I understand they're made to expire but these changes are just way too fast. I don't like a brand new phone to be the "old" iPhone within a year. If the rumor is true.

RUMOR, until Apple says so! Plus announcing/unveiling is different than launching. So if they are announcing it in Aug, but still launching in September then no biggie. But if they are planning on changing the launching to Aug then that a issue and going to piss off a lot of buyers. They wouldn't be able to buy the new phone then, because their contracts aren't up yet or their Next plans(ATT) like mine wont be due till Sept.

The same rumor of an early unveiling happens every year. It will be September. It's always September... every year.

Lol. It's a rumor until a " leak" or " reliable source" says so. And than apple will deny it till the last possible moment and than they will announce it to make it their own.

These tech analysts and their research notes. It's their job to just make sh*t up, and as for this Ming being the you can take what I say to the bank guy, Apple is nothing less than predictable after their trend of the past 5 years. So I say, "Analyze This!"

Once a year isn't so bad - imagine how Android users feel- their phone is obsolete after a week!

Obsolescence is just a part of life - everything is temporary. Besides, it gives you a chance to get excited about something new all over again!

And anyway your phone isn't "expiring", it's just not the newest thing any more. I know people that still have an iPhone 4 and love it. Be happy with what you've got!

I am extremely happy with what I got, that's the reason why I don't want to be unhappy with what I got. [emoji23][emoji23]
