  • Apple Watch Deployed in Fight Against Breast Cancer

Illustrating the immediately positive impact Apple Watch is exerting on the healthcare space, new reports indicate that Apple's inaugural wearable is already being put to good use in the fight against breast cancer.

Although HealthKit is no stranger to being used in hospitals and health organizations around the country, Apple Watch is playing catch up very quickly.

"The MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, a partnership between the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and New Jersey-based Cooper University Healthcare, is partnering with Polaris Health Directions to equip some 30 breast cancer patients with the new smartwatches," mHealth News reports.

According to the report, Apple Watch will be immensely useful in caring for patients by helping providers track behavioral data that may possibly be used to subsequently "refine their treatment regimens."

A comprehensive interview regarding the usage of Apple Watch in the application described above is available here.
