  • Apple iPhone Used by President Obama for First Twitter Post

U.S. President Barack Obama finally made his first post on Twitter recently, using an Apple iPhone. The tweet was made on Obama’s personal Twitter account, not to get confused with @BarackObama and @WhiteHouse, as both are run by White House staff. The new Twitter account @POTUS is actually Obama’s personal account and according to Mr. President,

Hello, Twitter! It's Barack. Really! Six years in, they're finally giving me my own account.

It was noted however that the device used to write the tweet was an Executive Office iPhone due to security worries. However, it was found that the tweet was posted using Twitter’s official iPhone client. Two years ago, Obama actually told Time magazine that he was not allowed to have an iPhone and therefore used a BlackBerry.

Buzzfeed was told by a White House official that the iPhone belongs to a registered Executive Office of the President. Obama however, still uses a locked-down BlackBerry device as his normal device.
