  • Greenpeace Lavishes More Praise on Apple

In the old days, Apple wasn't the favorite corporate giant among organizations and activists concerned with the well-being of the environment.

But times have changed. And so have opinions of Apple.

Over the course of the last five years, Apple has made tremendous strides in going "green," advancing everything from its investment in renewable energy to taking massive steps to reduce its carbon footprint across multiple continents. And the efforts continue to get noticed.

The latest recognition comes from Greenpeace.

"Apple continues to lead the charge in powering its corner of the internet with renewable energy even as it continues to rapidly expand," the report shared with MMi reads. "All three of its data center expansions announced in the past year will be powered with renewable energy. Apple is also having a positive impact on pushing major colocation providers to help it maintain progress toward its 100% renewable energy goal."

The report deeply probes what Apple is doing right and what it could still be doing better. To check it out, the full report is available at no charge here.
