  • Speck Announces New Candyshell Fit Apple Watch Case

On Tuesday, Speck announced new case accessories for the Apple's popular new Apple Watch. Speck calls the new case the Candyshell Fit.

The new case has an easy on/off design that minimally impacts the appearance of the device, while keeping it well protected from everyday use. The case has a cut-out for the digital crown, as well as a button overlap for the side button.

The Candyshell Fit is made from durable TPU material that can absorb shock and protect from scuffs/scratches. It comes in various colors too, such as blue, black, white, and pink.

It may not be as tank solid as the recently-announced LUNATIK Epik, but at an affordable $29.99, the Speck Candyshell Fit will offer decent everyday protection for Apple Watch users. It will be available for order later this month.

At this point in time, it isn't clear if the Speck Candyshell Fit will support both the 42mm and 38mm Apple Watches or just the 42mm Apple Watch; we will keep you updated as more information arises. On the other hand, it should fit all models, whether a Sport, basic Apple Watch, or even the Edition.

There are going to be a ton of cases coming out for the Apple Watch. All about your personal preference really. Does't look like the powder blue band matches the case above..i could be wrong but the two blues look different to me.

Doesn't look like it does. Even on the official Speck site, with a photo with the case on the Watch - still looks to be a different hue: Apple Watch - Signup for Info on what Speck has coming! | Speck Products

      Still looks pretty decent however.

No one else think this is a pointless idea?

I see your point of view, don't get me wrong. But I've whacked my wrist on countless counter-tops and while working on my Jeep that I wish I had some protection for.

I type for a living. I also wear my watch with the face on my forehand(just feels right to me) long story short, I have ruined plenty of watches by scratching them to the point of not being able to see what time it is...all from my keyboard and or desk. I will NEED a case for my Apple Watch.

I try to take it off when working on my Jeep. I either become forgetful or I still whack my wrist on counter-tops as I walk by them in a rush.

Try taking it snowboarding without a case and have fun. Yes the apple watch is beautiful and shouldn't be covered but there are times when it needs protection. It's not your watch so let us place the case we want on it. Because when it comes time to sell it and my watch is scratch free all I can see is the $15-20 spent now is worth the investment to protect it.
